Dealing with Disclosures

‘Dealing With Disclosures’

Who is it for?

Professionals working in environments where they may receive a disclosure, for example, youth workers, residential advisors, chaplains, health professionals and teachers.

How long?

Three to five hours

What does it cover?

This workshop is not a primary prevention workshop, instead it focuses on providing participants with the knowledge and skills to respond appropriately to disclosures of sexual violence.

Sexual violence is difficult to talk about, and difficult to hear about. People in our communities may be asking for help for the first time ever when they tell us about harm and abuse. ‘Dealing with Disclosures’ is a workshop that can help you develop the skills and confidence to respond appropriately when someone discloses that they have experienced sexual violence, that they have sexually assaulted someone or that they are concerned about someone.
